Bean

The 1997 British comedy film directed by Mel Smith, written by Richard Curtis and Robin Driscoll, is a feature-length adaptation of the popular TV series "Mr. Bean." Rowan Atkinson reprises his role as the bumbling and mostly silent Mr. Bean, who works as a security guard at London's National Gallery. Due to a misunderstanding, he is sent to the United States to accompany and present the painting "Whistler's Mother" at a Los Angeles art museum. In America, Bean stays with museum curator David Langley (Peter MacNicol), leading to a series of comedic events, including accidentally damaging the painting. Attempting to fix the situation, Bean replaces the original with a poster, treated with egg white and nail polish remover to give it an authentic look. Despite his clumsiness, Bean delivers a heartfelt speech at the exhibition opening, which is well-received by the audience. The film blends the show's signature humor with new plot developments and an American setting. The soundtrack features compositions by Howard Goodall and the song "Picture of You" by Boyzone. With a budget of $18 million, the film grossed over $251 million worldwide.
