An American Western television series that aired on ABC from 1958 to 1962, produced by William T. Orr. The main character, Bronco Layne (Ty Hardin), is a former Confederate officer who, after the Civil War, roams the Old West encountering various adventures and historical figures such as Billy the Kid, Jesse James, and Theodore Roosevelt. The series was initially created as a replacement for "Cheyenne" during a contract dispute with actor Clint Walker but later became a standalone project. Bronco often crossed paths with other Warner Bros. Western characters, such as "Sugarfoot" and "Cheyenne." A total of 4 seasons and 68 episodes were produced. The series was filmed in California and also broadcast in the United Kingdom. The cast included Robert Colbert, Mike Road, and Morris Ankrum. Music for the series was composed by Mack David and Jay Livingston. The show was recognized for its dynamic storytelling and charismatic lead, becoming one of the popular Westerns of its time.
