The 2006 American action film, directed by Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor, tells the story of Chev Chelios (Jason Statham), a hitman working in Los Angeles under crime boss Don Carlos. Assigned to eliminate mafia leader Don Kim, Chev successfully completes the task. However, ambitious criminal Ricky Verona (Jose Pablo Cantillo) seizes the opportunity and poisons Chev with a rare Chinese toxin that slows his heart rate. Waking up the morning after the poisoning, Chev realizes his condition and understands that to survive, he must maintain a high adrenaline level in his blood. He embarks on a quest to find Verona, seeking both an antidote and revenge for the betrayal. Along the way, Chev consults his friend and physician, Miles (Dwight Yoakam), who confirms the need for constant bodily stimulation to slow the poison's effects. To stay alive, Chev resorts to extreme measures: participating in street races, engaging in fights, and even having public sex with his girlfriend Eve (Amy Smart). Throughout his journey, he relentlessly pursues Verona and his associates, stopping at nothing. The film is filled with dynamic scenes, unconventional solutions, and highlights a man's struggle for survival under extreme conditions.
