Fallout 3

An iconic post-apocalyptic role-playing game developed by Bethesda Game Studios and released in 2008. Fallout 3 was the first game in the series to transition into full 3D, featuring both first- and third-person perspectives, as well as the V.A.T.S. system, which combines tactical turn-based combat with real-time action. Set in the year 2277, 200 years after a nuclear war devastated civilization, the player takes on the role of a Vault 101 resident, raised in an isolated underground shelter in the Capital Wasteland (formerly Washington, D.C.). When their father mysteriously disappears, the protagonist ventures out into the wasteland, encountering ruthless raiders, mutants, the Brotherhood of Steel, the Enclave, and other factions fighting for survival. The game offers a vast open world, complete freedom of action, and a branching narrative where player choices shape the fate of NPCs and the wasteland itself. Fallout 3 was praised for its atmosphere, non-linearity, complex moral dilemmas, and deep character progression, cementing its place as one of the most influential RPGs of its time.
