Risen

An action RPG released in 2009 by the German studio Piranha Bytes. The game is set on the island of Faranga, where a mysterious cataclysm has caused ancient temple ruins to rise, unleashing dangerous creatures. The protagonist, a shipwreck survivor, becomes entangled in a struggle between the Inquisition, mages, and bandits inhabiting the island. Players can choose their path by aligning with one of the factions and developing their character throughout the game. Risen features an open world filled with secrets, while its combat system focuses on tactical melee and magic battles.
