Gothic 3: Forsaken Gods

An expansion to Gothic 3, released in 2008, serving as a bridge between the third and fourth games in the series. The story takes place several years after the events of the original game. Myrtana is once again engulfed in war—King Rhobar III, formerly the Nameless Hero, attempts to reunite the land, but factional conflicts persist. Players once again take on the role of the Nameless Hero, exploring the changed world, completing new quests, and influencing the balance of power. However, the game was heavily criticized for numerous bugs, poor optimization, and weak storytelling, making it one of the most controversial entries in the franchise. Later, patches and an updated Gothic 3: Forsaken Gods – Enhanced Edition were released to address some of these issues.
