Risen 3: Titan Lords

An action RPG released in 2014 by Piranha Bytes. Risen 3: Titan Lords builds on the ideas of its predecessors, returning to a darker and more fantasy-driven atmosphere reminiscent of the studio’s earlier games. The story follows a new nameless protagonist whose soul is stolen by dark forces, leading him on a journey to seek aid from mages, pirates, and other factions. The game world is more diverse, featuring multiple large islands with distinct biomes and unique quests. The combat system saw improvements over Risen 2, reintroducing parrying mechanics and magic, though some elements remained controversial among players. Despite enhanced visuals and an open world, the game received mixed reviews for not fully recapturing the depth of classic Piranha Bytes RPGs.
