Getaway

The 2013 American action thriller "Getaway" was directed by Courtney Solomon and Yaron Levy. The story follows Brent Magna (Ethan Hawke), a former race car driver whose wife has been mysteriously kidnapped. Brent receives a phone call from a mysterious voice (played by Jon Voight), who instructs him to steal a customized Ford Shelby GT500 Super Snake and follow a series of dangerous and increasingly destructive tasks under constant surveillance. Failure to comply will result in his wife's death. As Brent obeys the commands in a desperate attempt to save her, he is soon interrupted by a teenage girl known only as “The Kid” (Selena Gomez), who is the real owner of the car. Initially antagonistic toward one another, the two form an uneasy alliance as they become entangled in a larger conspiracy orchestrated by their faceless tormentor. The Kid, a skilled hacker, aids Brent by accessing traffic cams, police radio frequencies, and other surveillance tools to help evade capture and uncover the mastermind’s identity. As they race through the city of Sofia, Bulgaria, they encounter numerous high-speed chases, armed law enforcement, criminal operatives, and sophisticated traps. Through the chaos, the truth behind the mysterious voice’s motives begins to unravel, revealing a plot involving a major bank heist and far-reaching corruption. The film is packed with intense car stunts, relentless action, and a constant sense of urgency, exploring themes of desperation, redemption, and survival under pressure.
