American Assassin

The 2017 American action thriller directed by Michael Cuesta is based on Vince Flynn's novel of the same name. The film follows Mitch Rapp (Dylan O'Brien), a young man whose life changes after the tragic death of his fiancée Katrina (Charlotte Vega) during a terrorist attack. Consumed by vengeance, Mitch trains himself in martial arts and marksmanship to avenge her death. His actions attract the attention of CIA Deputy Director Irene Kennedy (Sanaa Lathan), who recruits him into a covert counter-terrorism program. Mitch undergoes intensive training under Cold War veteran Stan Hurley (Michael Keaton). Together, they confront Hurley's former protégé, known as Ghost (Taylor Kitsch), who plans to use stolen plutonium to create a nuclear device. Collaborating with Turkish agent Annika (Shiva Negar), the team must prevent a catastrophe threatening millions of lives. The film explores themes of revenge, terrorism, and the moral dilemmas associated with combating global threats.
