The 2016 American action thriller directed by Ariel Vromen, written by Douglas Cook and David Weisberg, follows convict Jerico Stewart (Kevin Costner), who undergoes an experimental procedure to implant the memories of deceased CIA agent Bill Pope (Ryan Reynolds) to complete Pope's unfinished mission. Pope was killed while protecting hacker Jan Strook, known as "The Dutchman" (Michael Pitt), who developed a program capable of bypassing all global nuclear defense codes. Post-implantation, Stewart begins to experience Pope's emotions and memories, leading to an internal struggle between his violent past and newfound feelings. Guided by CIA agent Quaker Wells (Gary Oldman) and neurosurgeon Dr. Micah Franks (Tommy Lee Jones), Stewart must thwart terrorist Xavier Heimdahl (Jordi Mollà), who aims to use the program for world domination. The film also features Jill Pope (Gal Gadot), Bill's widow, who plays a pivotal role in Stewart's emotional journey. Filming took place in London starting September 2014, with the premiere on April 15, 2016. Despite its star-studded cast and intriguing premise, the film received mixed reviews and grossed $38.8 million worldwide against a $31.5 million budget.
