Guitar Hero II is the second installment in the iconic rhythm game series, developed by the American studio Harmonix and released in 2006. The game continues the concept of the original Guitar Hero, allowing players to feel like rock musicians by using a special guitar controller. Compared to its predecessor, Guitar Hero II features an expanded tracklist with over 60 songs, including hits from bands like Guns N’ Roses, Nirvana, Rage Against the Machine, and Aerosmith. The core gameplay remains unchanged: players must press the corresponding buttons on the guitar in sync with the notes on the screen to successfully play songs and earn points. A major innovation was the introduction of a cooperative mode, where one player performs the rhythm guitar or bass part while the other plays the lead guitar. Guitar Hero II was released for PlayStation 2 and Xbox 360, with the latter version featuring additional songs and improved graphics.
