An epic fantasy trilogy by British author Philip Pullman, published between 1995 and 2000. It includes the novels "Northern Lights" (also known as "The Golden Compass"), "The Subtle Knife," and "The Amber Spyglass." The story follows Lyra Belacqua, a young girl from a parallel world where people's souls manifest as animal companions called daemons. As Lyra and her friend Will journey between worlds, they uncover the nature of Dust, confront religious institutions, and fight for intellectual freedom. The novel addresses themes of philosophy, religion, science, and coming of age, becoming a cultural phenomenon and winning numerous literary awards.
