In August of 1944

A 2001 war drama based on Vladimir Bogomolov’s novel Moment of Truth. The story takes place in August 1944, when Belarus has been liberated from German occupation, but enemy sabotage groups continue to operate in the area. Soviet intelligence officers, led by Lieutenant Pavel Alekhin (Evgeny Mironov), are tasked with locating and neutralizing a hidden German radio station. Using counterintelligence tactics and radio interception, they gradually track down the enemy agents. The film captures the tense atmosphere of wartime espionage, blending elements of a detective story, thriller, and historical drama.
