Intermission

A 2022 Russian-Finnish dramatic comedy film directed by Anna Kuznetsova. The plot follows a young teacher, Tatyana Viktorovna Sirina (Darya Saveleva), who, along with a school theater group, travels to a festival in Sochi. To ensure discipline, the school administration assigns the strict and principled deputy principal, Maria Genrikhovna Abgaryan (Polina Kutepova), to accompany them. Initially skeptical of the deputy principal, Tatyana gradually discovers that behind Maria Genrikhovna's stern exterior lies wisdom and a profound understanding of life. Amidst the festival, students experience their first romantic and friendly dramas, facing organizers' demands to change the play's title and content. Tatyana must choose between compromising for the children's success and standing by her principles. The film explores themes of mentorship, personal growth, and the challenges of teaching.
