10 Lives

An animated fantasy comedy film released in 2024, directed by British animator Chris Jenkins. The story follows a pampered house cat named Beckett (voiced by Mo Gilligan), who enjoys a carefree life with his owner Rose (Simone Ashley), a young scientist studying bees. After losing his ninth life, Beckett finds himself in the "Department of Reincarnations" for animals, where he's granted the opportunity to live nine more lives in various forms, including a badger, rat, cockroach, parrot, fish, dog, horse, and bee. Each new incarnation presents Beckett with dangers and challenges, leading him to reassess his attitude towards life and those around him. Meanwhile, Rose and her colleague Larry (Dylan Llewellyn) work on a serum to save bees, facing opposition from Professor Craven (Bill Nighy), who has his own selfish motives. The film received positive reviews from critics for its charming characters and environmental message, despite simple computer animation. It premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in January 2024 and was released in Russian theaters on June 12, 2024.
