K-19: The Widowmaker

The 2002 historical drama directed by Kathryn Bigelow is based on true events that occurred in 1961 aboard the Soviet nuclear submarine K-19. Captain Alexei Vostrikov (Harrison Ford) is appointed to command the new submarine, replacing the experienced Captain Mikhail Polenin (Liam Neeson), who remains on board as executive officer.
