Our Hidden Lives

The 2005 British television drama film, directed by Michael Samuels and written by David Eldridge, is based on the best-selling book by Simon Garfield. The film adapts four diary entries that depict the lives of ordinary Britons during the post-war period of 1945–1955, often referred to as the "lost decade." Through the personal writings of the characters, the film explores themes of loneliness, social isolation, sexual identity, and familial struggles.
