Law & Order: Trial by Jury

An American legal drama television series created by Dick Wolf and René Balcer, it is the fourth spin-off of the original "Law & Order", and NBC carried it for a single season, between March 3, 2005 and January 21, 2006. The series focuses on criminal trials in New York City, beginning with the arraignment and culminating in the verdict, emphasizing the preparation by both the prosecution and defense, as well as the workings of the jury. The main characters include Assistant District Attorney Tracey Kibre (Bebe Neuwirth), her colleague Kelly Gaffney (Amy Carlson), investigator Hector Salazar (Kirk Acevedo), and District Attorney Arthur Branch (Fred Thompson). Unlike other entries in the franchise, the show delves deeply into the pre-trial process, including witness interviews, evidence analysis, and strategic planning by both sides. Despite its unique approach, the series was canceled after one season due to low ratings, attributed to competition from other television programs in the same time slot. A total of 13 episodes were produced, with 12 airing on NBC and the final episode broadcast on Court TV.
