A 2015 British-French biographical crime thriller directed by Brian Helgeland, based on John Pearson's book "The Profession of Violence: The Rise and Fall of the Kray Twins." The film tells the story of twin brothers Ronald and Reginald Kray (both portrayed by Tom Hardy), who were influential figures in London's criminal underworld during the 1960s. Reggie Kray, a former boxer, seeks to expand his influence in the city's criminal underworld. His brother Ronnie, suffering from paranoid schizophrenia, is confined to a psychiatric hospital, but Reggie manages to secure his release. Together, they begin to establish control over nightclubs and other illicit enterprises through violence and extortion. Reggie starts a romantic relationship with Frances Shea (Emily Browning), his driver's sister, and they soon marry. However, his criminal activities and Ronnie's aggressive behavior lead to tension in their relationship. The brothers strike a deal with the American Mafia, represented by Angelo Bruno (Chazz Palminteri), to expand their influence. Meanwhile, Detective Leonard "Nipper" Read (Christopher Eccleston) of Scotland Yard initiates an investigation into their activities, aiming to bring them to justice. The film intricately portrays the rise and fall of the Kray twins, their internal conflicts, and their impact on London's criminal world during that era.
