A biographical film by Antoine Fuqua from a screenplay by John Logan. Michael Jackson is played by Jaafar Jackson, the singer's own nephew; Colman Domingo, Nia Long and Miles Teller are in the cast. The release is set for 2026. Jackson was born in 1958 in the city of Gary, Indiana, the eighth child of a working family. He began singing as a child in the family group The Jackson 5, which signed with the Motown label and brought him to national fame before he turned twelve. The solo work of the grown singer, and above all the 1982 album Thriller, sold in numbers popular music had not seen before, while his way of moving and his approach to filming music videos reshaped the whole form. The second half of the artist's life passed under court proceedings and press attention proportionate to his fame. He died in 2009, a few weeks before an announced series of concerts was to begin. The film follows the road from a child in Gary to a man whose music is recognised anywhere in the world.
