Blue Moon​

The 2025 American biographical musical film directed by Richard Linklater and written by Robert Kaplow focuses on the final days of lyricist Lorenz Hart (Ethan Hawke), renowned for his collaboration with composer Richard Rodgers (Andrew Scott). Set on March 31, 1943, the opening night of the musical "Oklahoma!"—Rodgers' first project with new partner Oscar Hammerstein II (Simon Delaney)—Hart grapples with alcoholism and depression, confronting personal and professional turmoil as he witnesses his former partner's rising success. The film features characters such as Elizabeth Weiland (Margaret Qualley), Hart's close friend; Eddie (Bobby Cannavale), his manager; and other historical figures including Stephen Sondheim (Cillian Sullivan) and writer E. B. White (Patrick Kennedy). Filming took place in Dublin, concluding in September 2024. "Blue Moon" premiered at the 75th Berlin International Film Festival on February 18, 2025, where Andrew Scott was awarded the Silver Bear for Best Supporting Performance. The film has been praised by critics for its in-depth character exploration and musical score composed by Graham Reynolds.​
