One Life

A 2023 biographical drama based on true events. The film tells the story of Nicholas Winton (Anthony Hopkins, with Johnny Flynn portraying his younger self), a British humanitarian who, between 1938 and 1939, saved over 600 children from Czechoslovakia by organizing their evacuation to the United Kingdom before the outbreak of World War II. A stockbroker by profession, he couldn't turn a blind eye to the looming threat over Jewish families. Decades later, he reunites with those he saved, coming to terms with the impact of his extraordinary actions. The film explores themes of humanity, compassion, and the power of one individual to change the lives of many.
