A 2006 American animated comedy film produced by DreamWorks Animation and based on the comic strip of the same name by Michael Fry and T. Lewis. Directed by Tim Johnson and Karey Kirkpatrick, the story follows a raccoon named RJ (voiced by Bruce Willis) who, after accidentally destroying a bear named Vincent's (Nick Nolte) food stash, tricks a group of woodland creatures into helping him gather food from a nearby suburban neighborhood to repay the debt. This group includes a turtle named Verne (Garry Shandling), a squirrel named Hammy (Steve Carell), a skunk named Stella (Wanda Sykes), an opossum named Ozzie (William Shatner) and his daughter Heather (Avril Lavigne), as well as a family of porcupines. The film explores themes of friendship, trust, and the clash between wildlife and human civilization. Released on May 19, 2006, it received positive reviews from critics and grossed approximately $336 million worldwide against a budget of $80 million.
