Harold Ramis directed this 2002 American crime comedy, a sequel that picks up from the 1999 film "Analyze This." Robert De Niro plays the mobster Paul Vitti, and Billy Crystal plays the psychiatrist, Dr. Ben Sobel. The story follows Vitti, who, nearing the end of his sentence in Sing Sing prison, faces threats from fellow inmates and guards. To secure his release, he feigns mental instability by singing songs from "West Side Story," catching the attention of his former therapist, Ben Sobel. The FBI enlists Ben to assess Vitti's mental state, and after evaluation, Vitti is released into Ben's custody for further therapy. Vitti moves into Ben's home and attempts to lead a legitimate life, taking on various jobs, including consulting on a mafia-themed TV show. However, his past continues to haunt him as he confronts threats from the Rigazzi crime family and suspicion from the FBI, which believes he is orchestrating a new crime. Vitti and Ben become entangled in a complex situation involving the heist of a gold transport, culminating in Vitti aiding in exposing the Rigazzi family and severing ties with his criminal past. The film received mixed reviews from critics and grossed $55 million worldwide against a $60 million budget.
