Prison Song

"Prison Song" is a 2001 American prison drama directed by Darnell Martin, co-written with Q-Tip, focusing on the life of Elijah Butler (portrayed as a child by Justin "DJ JUS" Spaulding and as an adult by Q-Tip), a gifted young man from New York raised in foster care with a passion for art. His mother (Mary J. Blige), a hardworking woman aspiring to become a lawyer, faces challenges in securing employment.
