Psych-Out

A 1968 American psychedelic film directed by Richard Rush and produced by Dick Clark, "Psych-Out" serves as a vivid portrayal of the late 1960s counterculture. The story follows Jenny (Susan Strasberg), a deaf runaway who arrives in San Francisco's Haight-Ashbury district seeking her brother Steve (Bruce Dern), known as "The Seeker." In a coffee shop, she meets Stoney (Jack Nicholson), the leader of the rock band "Mumblin' Jim," who, along with his bandmates, helps her evade the police and continue her search. She falls in love with Stoney, but their relationship is strained when she inadvertently consumes a drink laced with the hallucinogenic drug STP, leading to intense hallucinations and emotional turmoil.
