The 1988 American animated science fiction television series, directed by Bill Hutton, Tony Love, and Ray Lee, is an adaptation of the original 1987 film. Set in an alternate universe, the series follows police officer Alex Murphy, who, after being mortally wounded, is transformed into the cyborg RoboCop and continues to fight crime in Old Detroit. Targeted at a younger audience, the show replaces bullets with laser weapons and significantly reduces violence. RoboCop faces various threats, including high-tech criminals and corporate conspiracies, particularly from Dr. McNamara, the creator of ED-260, who aims to replace RoboCop with his own creations. The series also features characters such as Officer Anne Lewis, the "Old Man" — chairman of OCP, among others. Animation was provided by AKOM Productions, with music composed by Haim Saban and Shuki Levy. The series consists of one season with 12 episodes and was part of the Marvel Action Universe programming block.
