3 Body Problem

This science fiction television series, created in 2024 in the United States, is based on the first novel of the Chinese trilogy by Liu Cixin. The plot spans multiple timelines and countries, beginning with the tragic events of the Chinese Cultural Revolution when young astrophysicist Ye Wenjie (Zine Tseng) sends a signal into space that is intercepted by an alien civilization from a chaotic three-star system. Decades later, scientists around the world begin dying under mysterious circumstances. The narrative centers on a group at Oxford University, including Jin Cheng (Jess Hong), Saul Durand (Jovan Adepo), Augustina “Auggie” Salazar (Eiza González), Will Da Silva (Alex Sharp), and Jack Rooney (John Bradley), who uncover the existence of the Trisolarans and a conspiracy within humanity to aid them in conquering Earth.
