A 1992 drama film directed by Martin Brest, based on an Italian novel and a 1974 film of the same name. The story follows Charlie Simms (Chris O’Donnell), a student who takes a temporary job as an aide to blind, retired Lieutenant Colonel Frank Slade (Al Pacino). Instead of a quiet weekend, Charlie is drawn into an extravagant journey through New York City, filled with luxury, tango, and philosophical conversations. A deep bond forms between the two, and despite his cynical outlook, Frank helps Charlie find confidence and make a crucial life decision. Al Pacino won an Academy Award for his performance.
