Gigli

An American romantic comedy crime film released in 2003, directed by Martin Brest. The story follows Larry Gigli (Ben Affleck), a small-time gangster from Los Angeles who is assigned to kidnap Brian (Justin Bartha), the mentally challenged younger brother of a federal prosecutor. The kidnapping aims to use Brian as leverage against the prosecutor on behalf of crime boss Louis (Lenny Venito). Recognizing the complexity of the task, Louis hires independent contractor Ricki (Jennifer Lopez) to oversee Gigli and ensure the mission's success. Ricki is an attractive and self-assured woman who practices yoga and possesses combat skills. Tension arises between her and Gigli, especially when it's revealed that Ricki is a lesbian. Despite their initial differences, they begin to bond, and Gigli develops romantic feelings for her. As events unfold, Gigli and Ricki confront moral dilemmas related to their criminal activities and feelings for each other. The appearance of Detective Stanley Jacobellis (Christopher Walken) and crime lord Starkman (Al Pacino) complicates matters, forcing the protagonists to reassess their priorities and make life-altering decisions. The film explores themes of love, identity, and redemption against the backdrop of Los Angeles' criminal underworld. Despite its star-studded cast, "Gigli" received extremely negative reviews from critics and was a commercial failure, grossing only $7.2 million against a $75.6 million budget. It was nominated for nine Golden Raspberry Awards, winning six, including Worst Picture, Worst Director, and Worst Screen Couple. In subsequent years, the film has often been cited as one of the worst in cinematic history.​
