A 1996 American crime comedy film directed by Steven Baigelman. Ex-stripper Freddie Clayton (Cameron Diaz) is forced to marry Sam (Vincent D'Onofrio) to repay a debt owed to nightclub owner Red (Delroy Lindo). At the wedding, she meets Sam's brother, Jjaks (Keanu Reeves), and they instantly fall in love. The couple decides to run away together, but realizing they have no money, they return to steal from Sam. Sam catches Jjaks in the act, leading to a violent confrontation. After escaping, Jjaks returns to the motel, unaware that Sam has been following him. While Jjaks is unconscious from the fight, Sam shoots Freddie, attempting to frame his brother. Upon awakening, Jjaks discovers Freddie's body and decides to bury her in the woods. However, it is later revealed that Freddie survived, and together they confront Sam and corrupt detective Ben Costikyan (Dan Aykroyd), striving for freedom and a fresh start.
