The 2008 crime comedy film, directed by British filmmaker Guy Ritchie, immerses the audience in the dangerous world of corruption and criminal elements of modern London, where the real estate market has overtaken drugs as the leading sector of the underworld economy. At the center of the plot is London crime lord Lenny Cole (Tom Wilkinson), who controls most real estate transactions through his connections with corrupt officials. Russian billionaire Uri Omovich (Karel Roden) seeks to make a lucrative deal with Lenny, offering his favorite painting as collateral. However, the painting is stolen by rock star Johnny Quid (Toby Kebbell), who was presumed dead, triggering a chain of events involving various representatives of the criminal world. A gang of small-time crooks led by One-Two (Gerard Butler) also tries to profit from this deal, collaborating with Uri's accountant, Stella (Thandiwe Newton), who has her own hidden motives. The film is filled with dynamic events, unexpected twists, and Ritchie's signature humor, revealing complex relationships between characters against the backdrop of criminal London.
