An Australian children's television series created by David Rapsey and Gwenda Marsh, "Ship to Shore" first aired in 1993 and continued until 1996. The show centers around a group of children living on the fictional Circe Island, located off the coast of Perth in Western Australia. The first season adopts a comedic tone, with the children often outsmarting adults, particularly the bumbling island security guard Hermes Endakis (Greg Carroll). In later seasons, the narrative shifts to address more serious social and environmental issues, such as the children's efforts to protect their island from destruction by a large corporation. Main characters include Kelvin Crump (Clinton Voss), his sister Geraldine (Kimberley Stark), Julie Jones (Jodi Herbert), Ralph Knowles (Heath Miller), Guido Bellini (Ewen Leslie), among others. The series comprises three seasons, each containing 26 episodes of approximately 24 minutes. "Ship to Shore" was well-received not only in Australia but also internationally, airing on YTV in Canada and briefly on Nickelodeon in the United States and the United Kingdom. The show was praised for its blend of humor and relevant themes, as well as its vivid character portrayals and engaging adventures.
