A League of Their Own​

The 1993 American sitcom, based on the 1992 film of the same name, follows the Rockford Peaches, an all-female baseball team during World War II. The series aired on CBS from April 10 to 24, 1993, with two additional episodes broadcast on August 13, 1993; a total of six episodes were produced, one of which remained unaired. The cast included Sam McMurray as Coach Jimmy Dugan, Carey Lowell as Dottie Hinson, Christine Elise as Kit Keller, Tracy Nelson as Evelyn Gardner, Megan Cavanagh as Marla Hooch, Tracy Reiner as Betty Horn, Wendy Makkena as Mae Mordabito, and Katie Rich as Doris Murphy. Despite featuring some actors from the original film, such as Megan Cavanagh and Tracy Reiner, the series failed to replicate the movie's success and was canceled after one season. Episode plots featured Dottie's return to the team after her husband was called back into service, a game between the girls and Jimmy's former teammates, the team acquiring a chimpanzee as a new mascot, a date between Jimmy and Dottie, the team's participation in a dance marathon, and Jimmy hiring a new shortstop based on her looks. In 2020, Amazon Prime Video ordered a reboot of the series, which premiered in 2022, offering a new interpretation of the story with a focus on issues of race and sexuality.​
