The third installment in the popular Shrek animated series, released in 2007. After the death of King Harold (John Cleese), the throne of the kingdom of Far Far Away is left to Shrek (Mike Myers), but he has no desire to become king. Instead, he embarks on a journey to find another possible heir—young Arthur Pendragon (Justin Timberlake), the king’s nephew. Meanwhile, Fiona (Cameron Diaz) and her fairy-tale princess friends find themselves in danger, as Prince Charming (Rupert Everett) gathers an army of villains to take over the kingdom. Donkey (Eddie Murphy) and Puss in Boots (Antonio Banderas) once again join Shrek on his quest. The film blends humor, adventure, and familiar characters while continuing to parody classic fairy tales and stereotypes.
