Split Fiction

An American cooperative action-adventure video game developed by Hazelight Studios under the direction of Josef Fares and published by Electronic Arts on March 6, 2025, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Windows, with a subsequent release on Nintendo Switch 2 on June 5, 2025. The game follows two authors, Mio Hudson and Zoe Foster, who become trapped in the world of their own stories after connecting to a machine designed to steal creative ideas. Players control these characters, each representing different genres — science fiction and fantasy — and must collaborate to overcome numerous challenges and return to the real world. Gameplay offers unique mechanics, including perspective shifts, shared controls, and diverse levels inspired by both authors' genres. The game received critical acclaim for its innovative approach to cooperative gameplay and sold over 4 million copies.
