The 2003 American spy action comedy film directed by Robert Rodriguez is the third installment in the "Spy Kids" franchise. The story centers on young OSS agent Juni Cortez (Daryl Sabara), who comes out of retirement to rescue his sister Carmen (Alexa Vega), lost in the virtual reality of a video game created by the villain known as the Toymaker (Sylvester Stallone). Juni enters the game, facing various levels and challenges, including races, battles, and puzzles, and meets new allies like Demetra (Courtney Jines), while dealing with betrayal and deception. Throughout his journey, he realizes the importance of family and friendship, as well as the need to trust his instincts. The film is notable for its use of 3D technology, enhancing the visual effects and making the characters' adventures more immersive. Returning characters from previous installments include Juni and Carmen's parents, Gregorio (Antonio Banderas) and Ingrid Cortez (Carla Gugino), as well as their uncle Machete (Danny Trejo). Despite mixed critical reviews, the film was a commercial success, grossing over $197 million worldwide, and served as the conclusion to the original trilogy.
