An American hip-hop duo from New Orleans, Louisiana, formed in 2013 by cousins Aristos Petrou (known as Ruby da Cherry) and Scott Arceneaux (known as $crim). They began their career by releasing music on SoundCloud, quickly gaining attention for their aggressive, self-produced beats and candid lyrics addressing themes of depression, suicidal thoughts, and substance abuse. Their musical style blends elements of punk rap, trap, cloud rap, and emo rap, setting them apart from other artists. In 2014, they released their first project, a three-track EP, followed by the full-length album Gray/Grey in 2015. A breakthrough came with their collaborative EP with Pouya titled $outh $ide $uicide, released in 2015, which solidified their position in the underground rap scene. In 2018, the duo released their debut studio album I Want to Die in New Orleans, which reached number 9 on the Billboard 200 chart and entered the top 10 in Australia and Finland. Subsequent albums include Long Term Effects of Suffering (2021), Sing Me a Lullaby, My Sweet Temptation (2022), and New World Depression (2024), each receiving critical acclaim and commercial success. They have also collaborated with artists such as Travis Barker and Juicy J. Suicideboys operate their own label, G*59 Records, under which they release all their music. Their work continues to have a significant impact on contemporary hip-hop culture, particularly within the underground segment.
