Kazakh rapper, singer, songwriter, and music producer, born in 1990 in Leninogorsk, Kazakh SSR. He began his career in 2009 and gained wide recognition in 2014 after releasing the track “VBVVCTND” and signing with the Gazgolder label. In 2015, he released his debut album “House with Normal Phenomena,” which revolutionized Russian-language hip-hop with its dark, atmospheric sound, intricate rhymes, and deeply personal, often grim lyrics. Skryptonite became known for his unique style blending hip-hop, trap, rock, and R&B elements, as well as his distinctive melodic delivery and “drunken” flow. He frequently experimented with genres and launched several side projects, including the groups Jillzay, Gruppa Skryptonite, and the collaborative project “Skryptonite, 104, Truwer, T-Fest.” He contributed to other artists’ albums, produced music, and developed his own creative platform, Musica36. His acclaimed works such as “Uroboros: Street 36” (2017), “2004” (2021), and “Whistles and Papers” (2022) solidified his position as one of the key figures in modern Russian-language music. Skryptonite has received multiple music awards and remains an influential force in the industry thanks to his unconventional approach and artistic originality.
