Taxi!

A British comedy-drama television series created by Ted Willis, which the BBC carried across 1963 and 1964, depicting the daily lives of London taxi drivers. The story centers on Sid Stone (Sid James), the owner and driver of a cab firm, who shares part of a house with his colleagues Fred Cuddell (Bill Owen) and Terry Mills (Ray Brooks). Sid, streetwise yet conscientious, often interferes in the lives of his colleagues and customers, leading to various comedic and dramatic situations. The first season, comprising 12 episodes, also featured Artro Morris, Michael Kilgarriff, among others. In the second season, broadcast in 1964, female characters were introduced, and Fred Cuddell's role was written out. Despite low ratings for the first season, the series continued. Of the 26 episodes produced, only one is known to exist due to the practice of wiping tapes.
