The Bremen Town Musicians

A 2023 Russian musical fantasy film directed by Aleksey Nuzhnyy, based on the animated film by Soyuzmultfilm and the Brothers Grimm fairy tale. The film follows the adventures of the Troubadour (Tikhon Zhiznevsky) and his group of traveling musicians: the Cat (Irina Gorbacheva), the Dog (Roman Kurtsyn), the Rooster (Askar Nigamedzyanov), and the Donkey (Dmitri Dyuzhev). They journey across the kingdom, performing music and dreaming of playing at the royal palace. The Troubadour falls in love with the Princess (Valentina Lyapina), daughter of the King (Sergey Burunov), and, along with his friends, seeks her hand, overcoming obstacles including the Atamansha (Mariya Aronova) and the Detective (Konstantin Khabensky). The film premiered on December 18, 2023, in Moscow and was widely released on January 1, 2024. It grossed over 3 billion rubles at the box office and received mixed reviews from critics and audiences.
