A space western by Jon Favreau from a screenplay he wrote together with Dave Filoni; Ludwig Göransson composed the score. Pedro Pascal plays Din Djarin, and Sigourney Weaver is in the cast. The release is set for 2026. The film continues The Mandalorian, a series that ran from 2019 on the Disney+ platform and was the first live-action television series in the Star Wars setting. Its hero is a bounty hunter from a distant planet who wears a helmet by the vow of his order and does not remove it in front of others. In the very first episode he takes a contract on a creature of unknown kind, finds an infant of the same species as Master Yoda, and keeps the child instead of handing it over. From there the series was about a grown man who took on someone else's child, and about a child whose abilities make him prey for many. The 2026 picture moves this pair from the television screen to the cinema and keeps the same arrangement: two of them travelling the galaxy together.
