The Matrix Resurrections

A 2021 American science fiction action film, the fourth installment in the Matrix film saga. A sequel to The Matrix Revolutions. The main roles were again played by Keanu Reeves, Carrie-Anne Moss, Jada Pinkett-Smith, and Lambert Wilson. They were joined by Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Jessica Henwick, Jonathan Groff, Neil Patrick Harris. The film takes place sixty years after the Revolution. The events revolve around Neo, who lives a seemingly ordinary life as a video game developer who has difficulty distinguishing fantasy from reality. A group of rebels, with the help of a programmed version of Morpheus, free Neo from a new version of the Matrix and fight a new enemy who holds Trinity captive. The Matrix film series depicts a future in which the reality that most people experience is actually a brain-in-a-vat simulation – the Matrix – created by intelligent machines to subjugate and pacify the human population, while the heat and electrical activity of their bodies are used by the machines as a source of energy. Drawn into a rebellion against the machines, a hacker named Neo (Thomas A. Anderson in The Matrix) finds himself in a new, frightening real world. He is given a choice – to return to a simulation existence, or to begin a rebellion against the machines, which also involves other people who have broken free of the Matrix and made it into reality. Neo chooses to fight.
