The Matrix Resurrections

A 2021 American science fiction action film, the fourth installment in the Matrix film saga. A sequel to The Matrix Revolutions. The main roles were again played by Keanu Reeves, Carrie-Anne Moss, Jada Pinkett-Smith, and Lambert Wilson. They were joined by Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Jessica Henwick, Jonathan Groff, Neil Patrick Harris. The film takes place sixty years after the Revolution. Neo now leads what looks like an ordinary life, building video games while his grip on the line between fantasy and reality slips. Rebels reach him with help from a programmed Morpheus, pull him out of the Matrix in its newest form, and take on a fresh enemy who is holding Trinity captive. Across the saga, what people take for the world around them is the Matrix: a brain-in-a-vat simulation that intelligent machines built to keep humanity subdued and quiet, harvesting the heat and electrical activity of human bodies for energy. The hacker Neo — Thomas A. Anderson in The Matrix — is drawn into the revolt and wakes into a frightening real world. Then comes his choice: slide back into simulated existence, or launch a rebellion alongside others who have broken out of the Matrix and reached reality. Neo chooses to fight.
