A 2007 American animated comedy film directed by David Silverman, it serves as a feature-length adaptation of the popular television series "The Simpsons." The plot begins with Homer Simpson (voiced by Dan Castellaneta) rescuing a pig from a restaurant and bringing it home, treating it as a pet and naming it "Spider-Pig." Meanwhile, Lisa (Yeardley Smith) leads a campaign to clean up Lake Springfield, resulting in the town authorities banning the dumping of waste into the water. However, Homer, unwilling to spend time on proper disposal of the pig's waste, dumps it into the lake, causing an environmental disaster. The United States Environmental Protection Agency, led by Russ Cargill (Albert Brooks), isolates Springfield under a giant dome to prevent the spread of pollution. The townspeople, learning of Homer's responsibility, riot and attempt to lynch his family. The Simpsons are forced to flee and find refuge in Alaska. However, upon learning of the government's plan to destroy Springfield, the family decides to return and save the town. Homer, overcoming his selfish tendencies, becomes a hero by destroying the dome and rescuing the residents of Springfield from annihilation. The film combines satire on environmental issues, family values, and the characteristic humor inherent to the original series.
