Tom and Jerry: A Nutcracker Tale

A 2007 American-Canadian animated Christmas fantasy comedy film produced by Warner Bros. Animation and Turner Entertainment Co. It is the fifth direct-to-video Tom and Jerry film, directed by Spike Brandt and Tony Cervone. The storyline is partially based on E. T. A. Hoffmann's "The Nutcracker and the Mouse King". The plot follows Jerry, who, after watching a performance of "The Nutcracker", wishes to perform on stage. Through Christmas magic, his dream comes true as the stage transforms into a winter wonderland where toys come to life. Jerry befriends Nelly, a toy pony who can only speak when her string is pulled, and Paulie, a pixie ornament. Their celebration is disrupted by Tom and a band of cats led by the King of the Cats, who seize control of the stage and capture the toys. Jerry, Paulie, and Nelly escape and embark on a quest to find the Toymaker, who can help them reclaim the stage and rescue their friends. Their journey takes them through icy rivers, fiery caverns, and various perils, including confrontations with the cat army. With the Toymaker's assistance and an army of toy soldiers, Jerry and his friends engage in a final battle to restore peace and harmony to the stage. Notably, this film was the last animated project worked on by Joseph Barbera before his death in December 2006; it is dedicated to his memory. In 2020, the film was re-released on Blu-ray, bundled with "Tom and Jerry: Santa's Little Helpers".​
