Tom and Jerry: Shiver Me Whiskers

The 2006 American animated adventure comedy film, directed by Scott Jeralds, is the fourth direct-to-video feature starring Tom and Jerry. The film begins with Tom Cat and Jerry Mouse aboard a pirate ship under the command of Captain Red. During yet another chase after Jerry, Tom accidentally discovers a treasure map, which turns out to be cursed. The map features a skull that warns Tom of the need to return the map to the sea by sunset to avoid a terrible curse. However, Captain Red seizes the map and decides to embark on a treasure hunt, ignoring the warnings. Meanwhile, Jerry ends up on the ship of Captain Red's rival, Captain Bob, and informs him about the treasure map. Captain Bob decides to seize the map and sets off in pursuit of Red. During the battle between the two pirate crews, Red's ship is wrecked, and his crew, including Tom and Jerry, are forced to escape on a lifeboat. Tom manages to steal the map, and together with Jerry, they set off for Treasure Island. On the island, they meet an old pirate named Paul, who has been searching for the treasure for 40 years without success. Following the map's directions, Tom and Jerry undergo various trials, including a battle with a giant stone chicken, and finally find the treasure. However, their joy is overshadowed by the arrival of Captains Red and Bob, who also claim the treasure. In the ensuing scuffle, Jerry manages to seize the treasure chest and escape on Captain Bob's ship. He becomes the new captain, appointing Tom as his first mate and Spike the dog as the boatswain. The film was released on DVD on August 22, 2006, and received mixed reviews from critics, who noted both its adherence to the spirit of the original cartoons and some shortcomings in the plot.
