The sequel to the legendary arcade skateboarding simulator, developed by Neversoft, greatly expanded upon the mechanics of the original game and became one of the highest-rated video games of all time. Players can choose from a roster of professional skateboarders, including Tony Hawk, Rodney Mullen, and Steve Caballero, or create their own skater with the new customization mode. A key addition was the "manual" trick, allowing players to link moves into longer combos, adding more depth to the gameplay. The career mode lets players earn money to upgrade character stats and purchase new gear. The game also introduced a level editor, enabling players to design custom skate parks. The soundtrack, featuring tracks from Rage Against the Machine, Bad Religion, and Papa Roach, became iconic for a generation of players. Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 2 was released on PlayStation, Dreamcast, Nintendo 64, PC, and Game Boy Color, with later ports to additional platforms, including iOS.
