True Lies

The 1994 American action film with elements of comedy and spy thriller, True Lies, directed by James Cameron, is a remake of the French film La Totale!. The movie stars Arnold Schwarzenegger as Harry Tasker, Jamie Lee Curtis as his wife Helen, and Tom Arnold as Harry’s partner Albert. Harry appears to be a mild-mannered computer salesman, but he is in fact a secret agent working for a top-secret government organization called Omega Sector. His wife Helen, unaware of his double life, believes he leads a dull existence. While tracking an Islamic terrorist group called Crimson Jihad, who plan to detonate a nuclear device on U.S. soil, Harry discovers that Helen is bored with her life and has begun seeing a con man posing as a spy for excitement. In an effort to reconnect with her and revive their marriage, Harry decides to involve her in a fabricated mission, which quickly turns into a real one. As events unfold, Helen becomes entangled in the spy world for real, and the couple must work together to thwart the terrorist plot. Blending high-stakes action, humor, romance, and impressive stunts, the film was a major success and remains a standout in the genre.
