Tyranny

An isometric role-playing game set in a world where evil has already won. The player assumes the role of a Fatebinder, a high-ranking official in the army of the tyrant Kyros, whose rule spans the entire continent. Unlike traditional RPGs where the hero fights against darkness, Tyranny forces players to make morally ambiguous decisions, shaping the fate of conquered lands and defining their role within the authoritarian regime. The combat system features tactical real-time battles with a pause option, while character development offers multiple paths, including magic, diplomacy, and brute force. Faction interactions play a crucial role, as each group reacts differently to the player’s choices. The game’s unique setting, nonlinear storytelling, and deep consequence system have made Tyranny one of the most distinctive RPGs of its time. It is available on Windows, macOS, and Linux.
