What? Where? When?

A Soviet and Russian intellectual television show that first aired on September 4, 1975, on the Central Television of the USSR, featuring a competition between a team of experts and television viewers. In each game, a team of six experts answers questions sent by viewers within one minute, demonstrating erudition, logical thinking, and teamwork. The game continues until one side scores six points, with the first to do so declared the winner. A distinctive feature of the show is the participation of intellectuals, scientists, students, and professionals from various fields who exhibit a high level of knowledge and culture. The host and creator of the program was Vladimir Voroshilov, who developed a unique format combining elements of a game, show, and educational program. After his death in 2001, Boris Kryuk became the host, continuing the show's traditions. The program has received numerous awards, including TEFI awards, and has become a cultural phenomenon, inspiring many regional and international versions. "What? Where? When?" has significantly influenced the development of intellectual games in Russia and the CIS countries, becoming a symbol of mental competition and collective intelligence.
